RESTORE LOST VOLUME

Dermal Filler

Dermal Fillers is used as an anti-ageing injectable treatment, they help to restore lost volume to the face and hands as well as accelerating the production of collagen in the skin where collagen and elastin production has begun to deplete due to the normal process of ageing.

Dermal fillers are commonly used to treat: lines & wrinkles, marionette lines, thin lips, lip lines, nasolabial folds, jowls and sagging skin. Dermal fillers can also be used to restructure facial features such as the nose and jawline.

Dermal filler to the lips can be used to enhance and augment the appearance of your lips and improve your self-confidence. Paula and Dr Sophie use premium dermal filler products to treat the lip area and provide natural lip filler results.

During consultation, we will assess your suitability for lip enhancement. Based on our assessment and consideration of your desired result, we will choose the appropriate dermal filler for you.

Testimonial

I went to have a lip filler treatment with Paula a few weeks ago, and I’m so pleased with the natural result she has given me. My lip shape is so much better, the extra volume has given me a real boost and they are nicely hydrated.
I was terrified of the procedure but Paula really put me at ease and took things at my pace. Such a lovely experience from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Frequently asked questions

How much dermal filler is required for lip filler treatment?

There are a number of variables when it comes to the volume administered for your derailed result. Mainly, the size of your natural lip. If you have very thin lips, then that suggests your lip tubercles are small - meaning small amounts of filler are used across a number of appointments to reach your desired result. Naturally larger lips can afford to have more volume, providing that is a suitable outcome based on your facial profile. In general, 0.7ml - 1ml dermal filler can be added to the lips during one appointment. More filler can be added, if desired, at least 2 weeks later. Additional dermal filler to the lips is charged as a separate lip filler treatment.

Does lip filler hurt?

Pain is something most people worry about! The lips are a sensitive area, so a little discomfort is expected. However, this is completely manageable with the use of topical lidocaine cream to numb the surface of the lips and the addition of lidocaine in the dermal filler product. In some circumstances, lidocaine can be injected into the sub mucosa to add additional numbing for your comfort.

What is the downtime following lip filler treatment?

Another variable! Everyone responds differently, so it is very difficult to say. On average, people swell for 48 - 72 hours post treatment and bruising is very common due to the vascular nature of the lips. You will leave clinic with an ice pack and a nourishing arnica lip balm to help reduce these side effects but it is your bodies natural response that will determine this outcome. In very rare circumstances people can be swollen for up to 2 weeks.

Benefits of lip filler:

  • Enhance lip size to create more plump lips which do not ‘disappear’ when you smile

  • Correct asymmetry or scars on the lip

  • Create a balance between the upper and lower lip (making them the optimum size according to natural ratio’s of beauty.

  • Improve the shape of lips to give a more beautiful cupids bow and defined lip shape

  • Add definition to the borders of your lips and reduce lines and creases around the mouth area (including ‘smoker’s lines’ / “lipstick lines”)

  • Enhance hydration of the lips

  • Enhance the philtrum column if requested
